After traveling from all over the world, today the Junior division cross-country national teams led the first of many races to come, marking the start of the events to take place during the 10-day 2023 FIS Nordic Junior/U23 World Ski Championships in Whistler, BC. The snow was hard packed and the weather was sunny at -4 degrees celsius with clear skies.

RESULTS:

In the Women’s 1.2km Classic Sprint Final, Finland’s Eevi-Inkeri Tossavainen won the gold, followed by Norway’s Milla Grosberghaugen Andreassen (+0.14), and Sweden’s Lisa Eriksson (+0.20).

In the Men’s 1.2km Classic Sprint Final, Sweden’s skiers Anton Grahn and Elias Danielsson (+1.08) won the gold and silver respectively, and Finland’s Eero Rantala (+1.16) won the bronze.

Tomorrow on Sunday January 29th the U23 division will compete in the 1.2km Classic Sprints.
